From typewriters to computers, since 1943

In 1979, I took a job at The Wall Street Journal. After I had been working there for some time, they introduced computers to the office. While I was competent in my role, at my advanced age, (I was in my 50s), they didn’t think I could catch on to this newfangled gadget. I was politely asked to bow out.
