In the U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were flat and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1% Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 declined 0.1% in morning trading. Idorsia added 11.5% and Uniper rose 6.2%. On the other hand, Viaplay Group Series B slipped 62.7%, and Dr. Martens dropped 3.1%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.1%. Other stocks in Europe were mixed as France’s CAC 40 declined 0.2% and Germany’s DAX held steady.
The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index fell 0.1% to 97.62.
In commodities, Brent crude dropped 1.4% to $75.62 a barrel, and WTI crude dropped 1.6% to $70.99 a barrel.
The German 10-year Bund yield fell by 2.6 basis points to 2.356% from 2.381%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 0.1 basis points to 3.687% from 3.688% Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were mixed as Japan’s Nikkei 225 index climbed 0.9%, whereas Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.3%. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite dropped 1.1%.
