U.S. stocks head mostly lower in final hour of trade Monday, led by 1% drop in Nasdaq

Major U.S. stock indexes were trading mostly lower in the final hour of trading on Monday, led by a 1% drop in the Nasdaq Composite Index. Dow industrials DJIA, -0.13% toggled back and forth between slight gains and losses near 33,735, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.39% was down 0.3%.

Stocks were pulled lower by concerns about slowing global growth as COVID cases rose in China, where lockdowns returned.
