Software surveillance company VigiLanz rolls out clinical trial enrollment tool

VigiLanz, which specializes in clinical software surveillance, debuted its latest tool to identify a greater number of eligible candidates for clinical trial enrollment.

The company’s VigiLanz Research automates the patient identification process in near real time, which helps speed the process for sites and hit time-sensitive enrollment targets, the company said in an Oct. 11 release.

The new tool is designed to help overcome what can be an inefficient, costly and Iabor-intensive process for clinical trial operations.

“For hospitals, this increases the likelihood for clinical trial success and for sponsors, this potentially saves millions of dollars and helps get products to market faster,” VigiLanz CEO David Goldsteen, M.D., said in the release. “Most importantly, it also connects people with opportunities for life-changing treatments that could help them live longer, healthier lives.”

Along with Sharp HealthCare, VigiLanz recently implemented the technology for an acute cardiac clinical trial that required a complex protocol and stringent patient enrollment process. The result was a 50% reduction in the time staff needed to screen patients.
