Home Depot, Boeing share gains lead Dow’s nearly 50-point jump

Led by positive gains for shares of Home Depot and Boeing, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading up Thursday afternoon.

Shares of Home Depot HD, +0.90% and Boeing BA, +1.29% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, -0.75% is trading 42 points (0.1%) higher. Home Depot’s shares are up $6.86 (2.4%) while those of Boeing have gained $2.77 (2.2%), combining for an approximately 63-point boost for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are UnitedHealth UNH, +1.52%, Goldman Sachs GS, +0.48%, and 3M MMM, -0.33%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.59-point swing.
