Dow’s 39-point jump highlighted by gains for shares of UnitedHealth, JPMorgan Chase

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Thursday afternoon with shares of UnitedHealth and JPMorgan Chase leading the way for the index. Shares of UnitedHealth UNH, +2.58% and JPMorgan Chase JPM, +1.51% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, -0.56% was most recently trading 39 points higher (0.1%).

UnitedHealth’s shares have risen $17.69 (3.5%) while those of JPMorgan Chase are up $2.75 (2.4%), combining for a roughly 135-point boost for the Dow. Boeing BA, +0.35%, Goldman Sachs GS, +1.33%, and Travelers TRV, +0.56% are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
