Shares of JPMorgan Chase and Caterpillar are trading higher Friday afternoon, lifting the Dow Jones Industrial Average into positive territory.
The Dow DJIA, +0.33% is trading 117 points, or 0.3%, higher, as shares of JPMorgan Chase JPM, +2.52% and Caterpillar CAT, +1.33% are contributing to the index’s intraday rally. JPMorgan Chase’s shares have risen $3.86 (2.8%) while those of Caterpillar have risen $3.24, or 1.3%, combining for an approximately 47-point boost for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include Apple AAPL, +1.01%, Travelers TRV, +1.01%, and Nike NKE, +0.75%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index equates to a 6.59-point swing.
