The Dow Jones Industrial Average is rallying Tuesday afternoon with shares of Amgen and Walgreens Boots seeing positive gains for the price-weighted average.
The Dow DJIA, +0.12% is trading 387 points, or 1.3%, higher, as shares of Amgen AMGN, +5.72% and Walgreens Boots WBA, +2.42% have contributed about one third of the index’s intraday rally. Amgen’s shares are up $14.34 (6.2%) while those of Walgreens Boots have climbed $1.21 (3.8%), combining for an approximately 102-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Walmart WMT, +2.59%, Boeing BA, -0.25%, and Caterpillar CAT, +0.60%. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
