Nike, Johnson & Johnson share gains contribute to Dow’s nearly 150-point jump

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is trading up Friday morning with shares of Nike and Johnson & Johnson seeing positive gains for the price-weighted average. Shares of Nike NKE, +3.19% and Johnson & Johnson JNJ, +1.52% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow DJIA, +0.30% is trading 140 points, or 0.5%, higher.

Nike’s shares have gained $2.44 (1.7%) while those of Johnson & Johnson are up $2.47, or 1.5%, combining for an approximately 32-point boost for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include American Express AXP, +1.10%, Honeywell International Inc. HON, +1.16%, and Coca-Cola KO, +1.31%. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the index results in a 6.58-point swing.
